Welcome to Kajans Navigation

A safer boating life means having knowledge of how to handle a boat in a safe and stable manner. This includes, among other things, seamanship, right of way, and navigation.

I am currently offering day courses in boat handling according to NFB for those who want to learn how to drive a boat or need it to obtain their 'Kustskepparexamen' (Coastal Skipper's certificate). I offer a personalised course where no prior knowledge is required. The minimum age is 12 years.

The training takes place in Växjö and is carried out in a Flipper 470S, a small open boat, so I recommend dressing according to the weather. As the boat is small, I can only accept a very limited number of participants, which allows the course to be tailored to each student's knowledge level and wishes. The course lasts approximately 3 hours and during this time we will go through how to safely operate a boat through various manoeuvres and situations.

Are you interested in attending the "Dager Praktik" course? Contact me at info@kajansnavigation.se and we'll decide on a day and time. Courses are offered evenings or weekends and last approximately 3 hours. Please note that the course may be cancelled at short notice due to bad weather, but I will of course get in touch to arrange a new, suitable time.
Please note that the course is not run during the winter months.

The instructor

As an instructor, I have several years of experience at sea within the Swedish Navy. I worked as an engineer on boats, and even then I was responsible for training new mechanics who arrived. Sea safety and navigation were part of my profession.
Currently, I'm working with operations and maintenance in a process industry.
The lake has always held a special place in my heart, so I want to do this in my spare time.
